While there is no right or wrong way of meditating, there are a lot of tools to choose from when it comes to establishing a meditation routine. Mine has been bowl tea for the last five years. Throughout this time I have been sharing my experiences of spending 15min drinking bowl tea (almost) every morning, with friends and family.Some of them joined me and tried it for a few days, others a few months. Interestingly, no matter for how long they kept it up, all reports have been positive. HOW BOWL TEA CAN HELP YOU DEAL WITH STRESS
There are many reasons start a meditation practice. One might be to simply wanting to quiet the mind in order to tackle stress and unwind from our hectic routine. While meditation is an excellent stress reducer it has also been found that it can have powerful effects on the body. Such as bolstering the immune system and better enabling it to fight disease. When I started drinking bowl tea I was travelling a lot and as I was not able to carry a lot of my usual tea equipment with me, bowl tea was a way of preparing tea easily wherever I went.
HOW BOWL TEA CAN HELP YOU IMPROVE YOUR RELATIONSHIPS
Bowl tea is in its essence a very humble way of preparing tea for oneself and for others. When sharing tea in general I have found that it has the incredible capacity to create a sense of community. So interestingly drinking tea and meditation seems to have the power to improve out relationships with others in two ways. Bowl tea meditation, by helping us to turn inwards and reflect upon our true essence, helps us to detach us from our destructive powers and our own ego. By recasting our perspectives, reflecting upon our own shortcoming or just seeing problems from a different angle we are able to embrace gratitude, become more humble. The other is by act of service, when getting together and serving bowl tea in a communal setting, which allows us to connect with oneanother in more meaningful ways.
HOW BOWL TE CAN IMPROVE YOUR WORK AND BUSINESS
When talking to a very good friend of mine who owns three businesses, she told me that she could not afford to spend that time each day to meditate or exercise due to her busy work schedule. I told her that the truth is that she in fact could really not afford NOT to. After this harsh remark I explained that meditation practise can mean a whole new way of developing thinking and action strategies as it impacts our decision making, our confidence, control and awareness. That’s why it is not surprising to discover that many successful and well known business practicioners actually employ meditative practices. There is an increasing body of research on the scientific evidence regarding the impact of meditation on the physical brain growth and development. For example I recently read that meditation increases the cortical thickness in the Hippocampus, which is responsible for the ability to memorise and learn, which in turn aids everything from planning, presenting and organising to remembering your boss’ cats birthday . It gives you the tools to deal with most situations that are thrown at you which might not be more useful anywhere else but business.
Although bowl tea does not work for everyone, it is one of the many tools that could allow you to become more adaptable and flexible in your thinking and help to reset your frame of mind.
